tantilizing tomes.

A new segment I have wanted to add in for a while. I have sort of combined Waiting On... and To Be Read list, all combined into one neat little post. It includes books that haven not been released yet and books that have just caught my eye that may be very old. I also want to do something with the sidebar, but nothing too big. We shall see.

Bones of Faerie by Janni Lee Simner
The war between humanity and Faerie devastated both sides. Or so 15-year-old Liza has been told. Nothing has been seen or heard from Faerie since, and Liza’s world bears the scars of its encounter with magic. Trees move with sinister intention, and the town Liza calls home is surrounded by a forest that threatens to harm all those who wander into it. Then Liza discovers she has the Faerie ability to see—into the past, into the future—and she has no choice but to flee her town. Liza’s quest will take her into Faerie and back again, and what she finds along the way may be the key to healing both worlds.

Black Unicorn by Tanith Lee

Nobody knew where it had come from, or what it wanted. Not even Jaive, the sorceress, could fathom the mystery of the fabled beast. But Tanaquil, Jaive's completely unmagical daughter, understood it at once. She knew why the unicorn was there: It had come for her. It needed her. Tanaquil was amazed because she was the girl with no talent for magic. She could only fiddle with broken bits of machinery and make them work again. What could she do for a unicorn?

The Dead-Tossed Waves by Carrie Ryan
To Be Released March 9th, 2010

Gabry lives a quiet life. As safe a life as is possible in a town trapped between a forest and the ocean, in a world teeming with the dead, who constantly hunger for those still living. She’s content on her side of the Barrier, happy to let her friends dream of the Dark City up the coast while she watches from the top of her lighthouse. But there are threats the Barrier cannot hold back. Threats like the secrets Gabry’s mother thought she left behind when she escaped from the Sisterhood and the Forest of Hands and Teeth. Like the cult of religious zealots who worship the dead. Like the stranger from the forest who seems to know Gabry. And suddenly, everything is changing. One reckless moment, and half of Gabry’s generation is dead, the other half imprisoned. Now Gabry only knows one thing: she must face the forest of her mother’s past in order to save herself and the one she loves.

  1. Well Black Unicorn by Tanith Lee absolutely rocks!! I love her YA stuff. Have you come across the Wolf Tower series? A-mazing. Can't wait for more Ryan and I so want to read Bones of Faerie too.

  2. Oh my goodness, didn't see your comments. Sorry! I absolutely adore her Wolf Tower series. I actually just reread them because I love it that much. And I got Black Unicorn for Christmas.
